I weat to New York last May speant 6 nights there and took loads and loads of pictures even to this day I look at them at least once a week sometimes even more. What a fantastic city just hope i can go back again some day

I just saw this website now, and the photos are nice, i am planning to visit New York this year [in October], and i hope to get something interesting in photography there.
I asked this question in many websites: where i can find workshops in NY about studio lighting and/or Photoshop?

Oh i see, too bad, as it will be a big opportunity to learn something, New York is full of known award-winning Professional Photographers, so taking a class or workshop with one of them there will make it a big advantage in my new photography experience, and how expensive it is? i just want a workshop or class for few days [2days up to say 1 week only], i will stay there for 3 weeks at most, and i am visiting a friend in fact but i will do photography myself there for sure as usual when i travel anywhere, but really i want to have something there in New York that can help me in my photography, will be a big lost if i didn't do it and just take photos myself alone here and there in New York, i want to meet one true master or professional photographer there to increase my ability in Professionalism of Photography.
Just a side question: how much in general or average are the cost of the workshops there? i will stay in a friend apartment so this will save me a lot of money to spend on something else, Dubai which is very near of my area is so expensive as well, and just few days ago they held a Gulf Photo Plus Workshops [http://www.gulfphotoplus.com/gpp2009/] and they did bring some big names in USA to give workshops and lectures here in Dubai such as: Joe McNally, Chase Jarvis, Zack Arias, David Hobby and so, and the prices were reasonable and not that too expensive in most of workshops, and i couldn't attend those because there were in the morning period and i am at work in the morning, so i don't hope that in New York it will be much more expensive then.
I see. I guess your situation is very different then, but I am afraid I cannot offer you any useful advice.
I would put those names into Google together with workshop to see what comes up. Check some magazines (outdoor photographer comes to mind) to see whats up. Most photographers advertise their workshops in photography magazines.
You are right, you should be able to find some great name photographers in New York.

New York City is expensive.
New York City is expensive. You are better off spending your time shooting and taking a workshop elsewhere -- just my 2ct
