Oregon Gallery now Online

So i finally made it and put the Oregon Gallery online. Fortunately I had a little help from Dani. Getting all images ready took very long since I have lots of stitched Panoramas (see picture above) and Mosaics (multi row panoramas). I was also somewhat busy with my Hardware Project.
The image above is from Crater Lake NP, shot with a Canon 20D. The Panorama is a single row Panorama shot in Portrait mode (to get a higher resolution).

DIY Digital Picture Frame that plays Videos too

Here is the DIY digital Picture Frame that I built over the weekend. This one distinguishes itself from other projects like it, that it can also play videos in an infinite loop. I have a video of a lonely Maui beach scene (1hr) that I play in the loop.
The picture frame runs Linux and is built from an old laptop.
The DIY Picture Frame was quite an interesting project. Modifying the Hardware was not so hard, but getting the Linux Software to run the way I want was a little bit more difficult, especially since the laptop did not boot everyLinux CD.
All it needs now is a nice frame around it and I am ready to hang it on my wall.
For a full description, more pictures and a video of the frame showing the Maui loop, go to the Digital Picture / Video Frame page.

Mossy Telephone

Even the telephones in Olympic National Park are covered in moss. Everything will be covered after a while, considering the amount of rain this place gets.

Crater Lake National Park

Today we left Oregon with a blast. Crater Lake National Park was really one of the highlights of our tour.

Covered Bridge in Oregon

Covered bridges are a trademark of Oregon. No wonder, they are all unique and beautiful.

Olympic National Park - Rainforest

Today we visited the wetest spot in the continental USA. The Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. As the name suggests, it was constantly raining.

July 4th, Seattle Fireworks over Elliott Bay

Todays display of fireworks over Seattles Elliot Bay was truely spectacular. On our second day we were rewarded for waiting for hours with a once in a lifetime experience.

Portland Oregon Roadtrip Day 1

Arriving in Portland, Oregon on the first day of our road trip, Dani was able to pull off this excellent shot. There was very little fireworks on this July 3rd. After driving for 670mi, I have to say, congratulations Dani for this shot.
Shot with Canon 300D.
