Another Mono Lake Sunrise Picture

I finally got the Mono Lake Gallery online. This is another picture taken during sunrise. Sunrise really brings out the best in Mono Lake. The colors are amazing.
Shot with Canon 20D and Canon 24-85mm USM Lens and CP Filter.

Sunrise at Mono Lake

Sunrise at Mono Lake. I shot this picture a while ago. I have been so busy with my new site:
OpenTravelInfo that I have neglected my Photo site a bit. I am now back to catch up and add new galleries and wallpapers in the next couple of weeks.
Shot with Canon 20D and Canon 24-85mm USM Lens and CP Filter.

Out of Work

Out of Work. Useless. Your job is now done more efficiently elsewhere. Your years of loyal service are forgotten and you are left to rust in peace.

Untouched

Untouched for 70 years one can still feel the ghost of the people who lived here. In the room next door there is a cradle and a bed, outside there is the dust of an old western town.
This is how people lived during the times of the gold rush. Now everything has fallen to dust.

Swazey Hotel - Bodie - State Historic Park

The Swazey Hotel in Bodie. This Hotel was also a Clothing Store and a Casino at various times.
Bodie offers infinite possibilities for a passionate photographer.

Bodie - Ghost Town

Bodie, a picturesque ghost town, is in a state of "arrested decay". It is one of the best preserved ghost towns. Only 5% of the original town is left due to elements and fire. The town was founded after gold had been discovered in the area and quickly grew to about 10,000 inhabitants. Life was rough in those days. It is said that about 1 killing occured per day.

Indy Grand Prix

Today we were guests of Team Penske at the Infineon Raceway during the Argent Mortgage Indy Grand Prix. Thank you Team Penkse. Here is one of their cars during a high speed run. Shooting this is not that easy, since you have to move your camera with the car to have the car sharp and the background blurred (so it feels fast too, no sense in shooting too fast of an exposure). Unfortunately, the two leading cars were involved in a crash, so that Penskes most promising race car was out of the game. Anyways it was an enjoyable, yet hot, race day.

Chipmunk at Crater Lake

We met this little guy at Crater Lake National Park. Even though it might look like he is posing for me, I was tracking him with my long lens for quite a while to get this shot. Good thing the Canon 20D has a tracking focus feature, so the photo came out in focus when i finally pressed the shutter release. The little Chipmunks are increadibly fast and hard to photograph.
By the way, the background is actually Crater Lake and I am looking down (in case you wondered why the sky was so blue ;-) )
