The crown fountains are two tall glass towers at the opposing ends of a reflecting pool ,projecting video images of the diverse Chicago citizens, spitting water.
This image is a good example of the hassle to reproduce with a camera what the eye sees. It is a stacked exposure, since the fountain is so much brighter than the surrounding area, that it saturates the sensor. If you expose for the fountain, everything else will be dark.
