Faces of Comic Con 2007

Check out the San Diego Galleries too.

ComicCon

I know you have updates but I want to check out your street photo section first. I opted for Comic Con first, and really enjoyed the set. In particular, there were several that stood out for me. Hicks, because I like the visual clutter of the shot and because the one tough dude is holding a martini glass with a sugared rim. Heh.

Borg and Color Shock stand out because of their dramatic lighting. Hot Fuzz is great because that movie is a favorite of my 9 year-old son. He told me the other day that he watched it again at Nana's and, "I just love Simon Pegg." He then proceeded to quiz me on which I like better, Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. Dude. You're nine.

Puffin and He Said, She Said are fabulous to me, because the subjects seem totally unaware of the camera and you are able to really capture a "moment in time" feel in their day.

Lastly, Mulder and Scully is the best photo in the entire set. Too funny! My internet handle is xfileluv, so as a long-time fan of the show, I can really appreciate every single thing about this photo—their intense demeanor, their garb, the headset, the badges, and the humor. All they are missing are guns.

My faves

Thanks again for your kind comments. I see you have become a regular and I am almost ashamed for not updating the site sooner. I have been doing a lot of business lately (selling pictures) so that I fell behind my writing and picture posting schedule. Hopefully this week I can update my San Diego shots somewhat.

Since you like dramatic lighting, check out "Sandwich" again. See how the spot light hits the women and how she is "sandwiched" between two trash cans? I think that shot is one of the best of the entire series because of the subtle effect. (if you don't see the cans, turn up your monitor brightness until you do).

I think "puffin" is pretty good too. Those two guys should be featured in a commercial about a nice scotch whiskey with the backdrop of a yacht club.

I think Mulder and Scully are kind of funny, esp. since their new movie is coming out this summer.

BTW: I took the shots extremely fast. I didn't even give people the chance to become aware of me. If you are comfortable with your camera, you can raise it, frame the shot and fire before someone has the time to react, especially since nobody expects you to.

Again thanks for your kind comments.

Andre
