The people of Taquile Island live a very simple life. They reject technology and don't allow hotels. You can stay with a family on the island, which we happily declined. Life is very harsh up here. The Sheep are 3 times smaller then on the low lands and not much grows up here. The inhabitants live on fish and rice and the little things they trade in Puno once in a while.
