I just played around a little more with ACR 3.7.
It appears that the tool always remembers the previous setting I have used. So if I have clicked on Auto, the next image will come up with Auto settings.
What I really love about the new Camera RAW is the fact, that I can now change the size of the window which makes a huge difference on a large screen. I never understood why the old version wouldn't let me do this.
