As a travel photographer, people always seem to wonder how I pick my locations. Quite honestly, I do not. My mood and my desire to see the world carry me to new places all the time.
When people asked me why I wanted to go to Boise I responded that I have never been to Boise and that it was within driving range. That raised a few eyebrows, as I defined driving range within a single days worth of driving. In San Jose, California, most people do not consider Boise in driving range though.
I had a great time in the wonderfully relaxed city of Boise and in the beautiful state of Idaho. Passing through the desert as fast as I could while keeping my old Mitsubishi from overheating, I made it to Boise in just one day.
I stayed in Boise for the Independence Day Celebrations and I drove to the Craters of the Moon National Monument while taking in some of the scenery on the way. I spent the rest of my time in eastern Oregon (I have a ton of new pictures of Oregon for next week).
Meanwhile I hope you enjoy my Idaho Galleries.

I Would Choose Idaho
One of the aspects of traveling to unexpected places is the the ability to find things you weren't even looking for. I'd much prefer a vacation to Idaho than Disneyland. The images you've shared only reinforce that. It looks as if their fireworks display was spectacular. And the picture of the boulevard toward the capital is great---not only does it look like such a clean city, but I love the dichotomy of the lush green and the golden sand you were able to capture.
Thanks
Thanks Uptake,
it wasn't my last trip, that's for sure. I too like to discover new places, but it is getting more difficult for me now to see new stuff within driving range. I might have to look closer in places I have already been.
Fortunately there are plenty of discoveries to be made in eastern Oregon (e.g. Steens Mountains) and more in Idaho.
Boise photographs
This is my hometown but I live elsewhere now; just there and in search of great Depot art/photos to bring home - found none. Would you be interested in sharing/selling me a few of these so I can frame them in my home?
My dad and grandfather were photographers as well - love the art-form.
Thanks,
Sue
Sure
Hello Sue,
I will put them in my store as soon as I am back from my current trip. That should be ready for you in about two weeks. Send me an email through my contact form if I am behind.
Thanks for asking.
Andre
